Description

Dr Kez Chirolab® Acupressure Hat: A Head-First Relaxation Ritual

The original, designed by Dr Kez Chirolab®, Acupressure HAT...it may look a little unorthodox, actually quite comical from an onlooker’s perspective, and you may earn you a few curious glances. But sometimes switching off calls for something a little different!

The original Dr Kez Chirolab® Acupressure Hat wraps around the head and features multiple lotus-shaped points that create a firm, stimulating sensation across the surface of the scalp.

Designed for those moments when your head feels busy and you are ready to step away from the screens, noise and never-ending to-do list, it offers a wonderfully unconventional way to pause, sit quietly and enjoy a little head-focused self-care.

Simply put it on, choose your preferred fit and let the rest of the world carry on without you for a little while.

For Those “I Need a Moment” Moments

Some days call for a cup of tea.

Others call for dim lights, a quiet room and a slightly ridiculous-looking spiky hat.

The Dr Kez Chirolab® Acupressure Hat is designed to become part of your personal relaxation ritual, whether you use it after a long day, during meditation, while listening to music or whenever you would appreciate a few peaceful minutes to yourself in a dark room.

Think of it as a gentle reminder to stop, breathe and give your busy head a break.

What Does It Feel Like?

The lotus-shaped points create a strong, concentrated tactile sensation where they make contact with the head.

The first few minutes may feel quite intense, particularly when you are new to point stimulation. Once you become familiar with the sensation, you can adjust the wrap and stretchy neck strap to find the level of contact that feels right for you.

The two padded “Little Cheeks” sit near the jaw area and can also be positioned for your preferred fit.

This is not a soft, fluffy relaxation accessory, and that is precisely what makes the experience so unique!

Choose Your Own Level of Intensity

Everyone’s preference is different, which is why the hat has been designed with an adjustable fit.

The stretchy neck strap and generous Velcro fastening allow you to vary the amount of compression and point contact.

Begin with a light, comfortable fit while you become accustomed to the sensation. There is no need to pull it as tightly as possible, the best setting is the one that feels comfortable for you.

Your Quiet-Head Ritual

Try incorporating your Acupressure Hat into moments such as:

  • Winding down after a busy or screen-filled day
  • Sitting somewhere quiet with your eyes closed
  • Listening to calming music or a podcast
  • Practising slow breathing or meditation
  • Taking a peaceful pause before your evening routine
  • Enjoying ten minutes when nobody is allowed to ask you anything
  • Sitting in the car during the kids' basketball practise...yes, we have done this!

There is no complicated routine to follow. Put it on, settle into a comfortable position and enjoy a little uninterrupted time to yourself.

How Long Should I Wear It?

Begin with a short session of approximately 5-10 minutes while you become familiar with the sensation.

You can gradually extend your relaxation ritual according to your comfort and personal preference.  A 20-minute session is a nice amount of time to experience the hat.

The hat should feel stimulating, but it should not feel unbearable. Remove it immediately if it causes pain, skin irritation, dizziness, numbness or unusual discomfort.

Sometimes self-care is candles and a warm bath. Sometimes it is placing 91 little lotus points around your head and declaring yourself temporarily unavailable.

Unusual? Absolutely.

A relaxing little ritual that is entirely your own? That is the idea.

How To Use

How to Put On Your Acupressure Hat

Inside your hat will be a QR code. Scan and watch the video for a step-by-step demonstration.

It can look a little puzzling the first time, but once you understand how the panels wrap and fasten, putting it on is easy.

Position the hat comfortably around your head, lightly secure the Velcro and adjust the neck strap gradually to your liking. Do not overtighten. Pop in the little acupressure 'little cheeks' on your jawline for a jaw massage.

  • Do not wear while driving, walking, exercising or operating equipment.
  • Avoid broken, irritated or sunburnt skin.
  • Do not use immediately following an injury to the head, face, neck or jaw.
  • Stop using the hat if you experience pain, dizziness, numbness, skin irritation or unusual discomfort.
  • Do not share the hat where doing so may create a hygiene concern.
  • Supervise around children
  • Seek advice from an appropriately qualified health professional before use if you have a medical condition, altered skin sensation, a recent injury or concerns about whether the product is suitable for you.

The Dr Kez Chirolab® Acupressure Hat is a lifestyle accessory intended for personal relaxation and tactile stimulation. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.

Things to Know

How to Use the Acupressure Hat?”  What a great question to ask. If you are new to the Acupressure Hat experience, it may feel a little strange and uncomfortable to have all of the spikes pressing into your skin, but after a few minutes, any strangeness or discomfort may quickly be replaced with a pleasant feeling of relaxation. After regular use, the relaxation may come as soon as you pop it on.

Place on top of the head with the front forehead spikes in a position comfortable for you and the head and neck spikes running down the back of your head. Firmly wrap the side flaps over the back, one at a time and secure with the velcro. Use the stretchy neck strap to secure under the chin at your chosen tightness.  There is an option to use the extra ‘little cheek’ jaw spike pads and all you need to do is tuck them into the neck strap near your jaw or wherever you find you need them. Sit on a chair with a head rest (an option is with a rolled up towel at the base of your neck to help add extra pressure to the neck spikes) for some R&R and cover your eyes for an added level of relaxation. We would recommend starting with a few minutes and as long as it is comfortable, keep it in position as needed.

Note: You may find that after use, your skin has little tiny impressions from the spikes.  If you want to play dot-to-dot with them, you will only have about 45-90 minutes before they fade, depending on your skin and the amount of time spent wearing the hat. Your skin may become slightly red after use due to the increased circulation, which will fade after about 30-60 minutes.

FAQ

A common concern is spikes puncturing the skin however this is not the case when used properly. With the Dr Kez Chirolab® Acupressure HAT, the skin is merely stimulated. Be sure not to drag it across your skin (this may result in injury) and be mindful to lay down slowly (if you choose to lay down during use) for even weight distribution and always be gentle with it when placing it in position.

The spikes are high-quality HIPS Lotus Flower spikes (no nasty, glued on, cheap spikes here!!) that have been eco-friendly, heat pressed onto 100% cotton fabric, which means no nasty chemical smells.

Acupressure Hat Care:

When required, hand wash your Acupressure Hat in lukewarm water with a mild laundry liquid. Do not use a washing machine or tumble dryer, as this may damage the points of the spikes. Rinse in cold water and drip dry on the line or lie on a towel out of direct sunlight.

Things to Know:

If you find that your skin becomes irritated after use or you want a lighter compression, you can take up the option of using a thin cloth over your head and forehead to protect your skin.

It is not recommended for kids under 10 and should be supervised if you choose to do so.  If you have any medical concerns, please seek medical advice from your chosen practitioner.

Do not use the hat on areas of broken skin, sores or wounds. If you have acne, it is ok to use however, if the skin is inflamed and sensitive, use a cloth on the hat to protect the skin. Discontinue use if pain is caused or the skin gets worse.

NOTE: Acupressure Hats are unable to be returned due to hygiene reasons.  Thanks for understanding!
