Compact, lightweight and simple to operate, this is the kind of device that quietly earns its spot in the drawer you actually use.
4-in-1 Stimulation TechnologyĀ
Why settle for one buzz when you can have four?
This versatile 4-in-1 TENS machine with EMS, IF and Russian Mode combines four different electrical stimulation styles, each delivering its own unique pattern and sensation. Whether you prefer a gentle tingling buzz, rhythmic muscle contractions, or a smoother stimulation experience, thereās an option to suit your comfort level.
Because no two bodies are the same (and some of us are absolute opposites with intensity settings!), the device allows you to adjust stimulation levels to what feels right for you.
-
TENS ā Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve StimulationĀ Ā
TENS mode delivers gentle electrical pulses through adhesive electrode pads placed on the skin. Most people describe the sensation as a light buzzing, tingling or tapping feeling; kind of like your muscles are receiving a polite little wake-up call. Intensity is fully adjustable, so whether you prefer a barely-there buzz or a stronger sensation, youāre in control.
-
EMS - Electrical Muscle StimulationĀ
EMS mode focuses on electrical muscle stimulation, creating rhythmic contractions in the muscles beneath the electrode pads. Instead of a surface-level buzz, youāll notice the muscles gently tightening and relaxing in repeating cycles, creating a different style of stimulation experience compared with traditional a TENS machine mode. Users describe this sensation as feeling like the muscles are being lightly activated or engaged. If youāre searching for an EMS machine or muscle stimulation device, this mode is where the action happens.
-
IF - Interferential ModeĀ
Interferential (IF) mode uses interacting electrical wave patterns to create a different style of stimulation sensation compared with standard TENS pulses. Many people find IF mode feels smoother, more flowing, and less ātappyā than the more traditional buzzing sensation of TENS. If TENS feels a little too enthusiastic for your liking, IF may be your new favourite.
-
Russian Mode
Russian stimulation delivers stronger rhythmic pulses in short bursts, producing more pronounced muscle contractions than standard TENS, EMS and IF modes. This creates a more noticeable tightening-and-release pattern that some users enjoy when theyāre after a more intense muscle stimulation experience. Translation? This one definitely means business.
Why Having Multiple Modes Is Actually Handy
Electrical stimulation isnāt one-size-fits-all.
Some people prefer the lighter buzzing sensation of TENS, while others enjoy the rhythmic muscle contractions of EMS or Russian stimulation. IF offers yet another stimulation style for those who prefer something smoother.
Having four modes in one portable electrical stimulation device gives you flexibility to explore what feels most comfortable for temporary neuromuscular pain relief, without needing four separate gadgets cluttering the cupboard.

TENS & IF MODES
Understanding TENS Stimulation
TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (say that three times fast!).
In simple terms? It’s a form of electrical stimulation that delivers controlled electrical pulses through adhesive electrode pads placed on the skin.
When the device is switched on, those pulses create a noticeable tingling, buzzing, tapping or pulsing sensation, depending on your selected settings and intensity level. Some people prefer a gentle buzz, while others like a stronger stimulation sensation, thankfully, you’re in control!
Because intensity is adjustable, you can tailor the stimulation to what feels comfortable for you.
The Dr Kez Chirolab® Portable 4-in-1 TENS Machine features dual output channels, meaning you can use two sets of electrode pads at the same time if desired, giving you greater flexibility depending on the area being stimulated.
As a portable TENS machine, it’s designed to deliver non-invasive electrical stimulation in a compact home-use format, without bulky equipment or confusing controls.
Understanding Interferential (IF) Mode
IF stands for Interferential stimulation.
Like TENS mode, IF delivers electrical stimulation through the electrode pads, but the stimulation pattern feels a little different.
Instead of a standard pulse pattern, IF mode uses two interacting electrical wave patterns that create a smoother style of stimulation sensation across the treatment area.
Many people describe IF mode as feeling:
- Smoother
- More flowing
- Less “tappy” than traditional TENS pulses
(Yes, “tappy” is now a technical term. Probably.)
Because the waveforms interact differently, the sensation can feel less abrupt compared with the more rhythmic buzzing pattern of standard TENS mode.
Some people love traditional TENS. Others instantly become IF loyalists.
That’s the beauty of having both.
TENS vs IF: What’s the Difference?
Both TENS and interferential stimulation modes deliver electrical stimulation through the electrode pads, but the sensation and waveform patterns differ.
TENS Mode
- Noticeable buzzing, tingling or tapping sensation
- Consistent pulse pattern
- Adjustable intensity control
- Popular for those who prefer a classic TENS sensation
IF Mode
- Smoother, more flowing stimulation sensation
- Interacting wave patterns
- Different stimulation feels across the treatment area
- Popular for those who prefer a gentler-feeling electrical stimulation experience
Neither is “better”; it really comes down to what feels most comfortable for you.
Some people try one mode and stick with it. Others happily bounce between both depending on the day, their preference, or how adventurous they’re feeling with the buzz settings.
EMS & RUSSIAN MODES
Understanding EMS Mode
EMS stands for Electrical Muscle Stimulation.
As the name suggests, this mode focuses on stimulating the muscles through controlled electrical pulses delivered via the electrode pads.
When EMS mode is active, you’ll notice rhythmic muscle contractions beneath the skin as the muscles gently tighten and relax in repeating cycles. Compared with the lighter buzzing sensation of traditional TENS mode, EMS creates a more noticeable muscle-focused stimulation experience.
Some people describe the sensation as feeling like the muscles are being gently engaged or “switched on” - without you needing to do a single squat.
Because intensity is fully adjustable, you can customise the stimulation to a level that feels comfortable for you.
If you’re searching for an EMS machine, electrical muscle stimulator, or muscle stimulation device, this mode is where the action lives.
Understanding Russian Mode
Russian stimulation is another form of electrical muscle stimulation, but with a different waveform pattern compared with standard EMS mode.
Instead of smoother repeating contractions, Russian mode delivers stimulation in short rhythmic bursts, creating stronger and more defined cycles of muscle tightening and release.
Translation? This mode has a little more attitude.
Many users notice Russian stimulation feels more intense than standard EMS due to the burst-style waveform, making it a distinctly different muscle stimulation experience.
Having both EMS and Russian modes built into one device means you can explore different stimulation styles depending on what feels most comfortable for you.
EMS vs Russian Mode: What's The Difference?
Both modes focus on electrical muscle stimulation, but they create different contraction patterns and sensations.
EMS Mode
- Rhythmic muscle contractions
- Smoother repeating contraction cycles
- Adjustable intensity settings
- Popular for those who prefer a steadier muscle stimulation experience
Russian Mode
- Short burst stimulation pattern
- Stronger, more defined contraction sensation
- More pronounced tightening-and-release cycles
- Popular for those who prefer a more intense stimulation style
Neither is necessarily “better” - just different.
Some people love the smoother rhythm of EMS, while others prefer the punchier burst sensation of Russian mode.
That’s the beauty of having both in one compact portable EMS and TENS machine.
FAQ
Q. What can a TENS Machine be used for?
A. The Dr Kez Chirolab® 4-in-1 TENS Machine is a non-invasive electrical stimulation device designed to support muscle function, relaxation, tone, and temporary relief of acute and chronic neuromuscular pain.
It also includes EMS, interferential and Russian stimulation modes, giving you flexibility to explore different electrical stimulation styles depending on your preferred sensation and comfort level. Always follow the directions for use.
Q. Can this TENS be used for temporary pain relief?
A. Yes. This device is designed to provide temporary relief of acute and chronic neuromuscular pain through controlled electrical stimulation delivered via electrode pads placed on the skin. Because everyone’s experience is individual, preferred intensity levels and stimulation settings may vary. Always use the device according to the instruction manual provided.
Q. Is this a TENS machine or EMS machine?
A. Both (because choosing is overrated š).
This 4-in-1 device includes:
- TENS -Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation
- EMS - Electrical Muscle Stimulation
- Interferential (IF) stimulation
- Russian Mode stimulation
That means you can explore multiple electrical stimulation modes in one compact portable device, rather than cluttering your life with separate gadgets.
Q. What does the stimulation feel like?
A. That depends on the mode you choose!
TENS mode is often described as a buzzing, tingling, tapping or pulsing sensation on the surface of the skin.
EMS and Russian modes create rhythmic muscle contractions, which feel more like the muscles tightening and releasing beneath the skin.
IF mode is often described as smoother and more flowing compared with standard TENS stimulation.
The intensity is fully adjustable, so you can start low and increase gradually until the stimulation feels comfortable for you.
Q. Where should the electrode pads be placed?
A. Electrode pads should be placed directly on clean, dry skin.
The device includes built-in body area guides for common placement regions, including:
- Neck
- Upper back and lower back
- Arms and elbows
- Hands
- Knees and shins/calves
- Ankles
- Soles of the feet
The included instruction manual also provides visual guidance to help with pad placement.
Q. Can I move around while using the device?
One of the biggest perks of this portable TENS machine is that it’s genuinely compact, smaller than most smartphones (just a little thicker). That means it can easily fit into your pocket while in use, giving you more flexibility compared with bulkier electrical stimulation devices. Always use the device safely and according to the instructions provided.
